A snowboarding game for the N64, Kewl? I think not....
First Impressions
Kewl! A snowboarding game for the N64! Allright!!! Kewl kewl kewl! I can't wait to plug this in. Dang! It's gonna be great...
Playing "Snowboard Kids"
This game sucks. Let me start off by telling you how bad the graphics are for this game; You have 6 characters to choose from, and they are all very bad polygons. They are composed like crap, in fact, when I was doing tricks with-gosh! I haven't played it in a long time- that kid with the spiked black hair. I made him fall and you could see the the flat black polygons behind his "spikes." Not to mention when you are boarding and you jump, the shadow of you and the board is always a perfect rectangle, even if you have the hidden boards like the feather. What else, oh yes! They still have flat 2D object in the game! What's up with that! You'd think they could try to put 3D objects in. You can see them when you are boarding along different courses (like the animals in the trick game). Those just suck, look at the brown hair girl for an example of crappy polygons.
The Sound
Now, what else. Ah yes, the sound. The sound SUCKS! I hate there wanna be kewl, but totally midi music and sound effects. They just suck. Every time you are boarding in any course some stupid music comes on that make you want to kill you character in the game. It's just horrible. How can anyone like that. Then, the characters sound retarded, as a matter of fact one of the girls sounds like a boy. Is she really a he? I don't want to know.
Controls and Gameplay
The controls are rather simple which is a plus for a real minus of a game. I found it really easy to move, jump, and do tricks with the games horribily designed characters. The courses in the games are makeshift original, but still all the same in one way or another. Sure, they vary the terrain that you are on, but that's about it. For the most part the courses are the same. They get boring. The competition in the game sucks too. Sometimes it's so easy, and other times it's just rediculosly hard. After a while the game just got increasingly boring, going down a course to a finish line. That's all it was, nothing extremely fun. I think I played the game for a total of 3 hours before I realized it was horrible.
Final Thoughts
I can't believe I wasted 3 hours of my life on this game, along with 40 dollars. What a waste. This game should be burned, or crushed, or better yet taken away from the entire world. It was just plain crap. Racdym did a horrible job.
