Perhaps one of the most awaited software packages released from Microsoft, Allegiance pits you against not the AI of a computer, but against the world..against the most dangerous foe, another human being. While computer AI's can be hard to beat, it is also predictable, whereas with Allegiance and other Online-Only games, it takes you and throws you straight into the front-lines against the best of the best, the worst of the worst, and everything in between, in a desperate fight for your life. The world of Allegiance is a fabulous graphical universe that allows for a lot of game customization, with technology research, ship upgrades, and money collecting. The game is perhaps the first game to ever rival the popularity of Wing Commander. Allegiance is one of Microsoft's most shining moments in the world of gaming software. Granted, they did a decent job with Flight Simulator, but when it comes down to it, it fails in comparison to Allegiance. With everything from a scout craft to interceptors to bombers to the almighty Devastator capital ship, this game demands teamwork and communication skills to the highest degree, or you and your team will fail miserably.
