superman9999's Full Review: Total Air War for Windows
I chose this game after sampling the demo on zone.com, MS's gaming service. I was blow away by the stunning graphics and how well they ran on my computer (Celeron 366Mhz with a GeForce DDR and 128MB of RAM), and how well it ran over my unstable 56k connection. When you play there are several different modes you can play on, as well as which service you can use. There are two services: Premium and Free. Premium allows you to be ranked and have your statistics on zone.com's servers, but it costs $10 a month (much like other online only games Asheron's Call and EverQuest). You can also opt to play on the Free service, which is just that, except you are not ranked or have stats. There are several different types of games, like Deathmatch (flying around space and dogfighting), Capture the Flag, and the most popular, Conquest. Conquest is basically a team effort to eliminate the other team's bases and fighters in a very calculated manner. This mode is a load of fun on the servers, as you can take on many roles, like fighter, frigate pilot, scout, or commander, where you manage all of the team's resources and upgrades. I soon bought the game once i realized the depth of the game.
