Ted_71's Full Review: Close Combat: A Bridge Too Far for Windows
I originally downloaded the demo version from the internet. Can't remember where I got it from. Anyhow, I spent untold hours playing just the demo version. Then I went and bought the CD. It all went downhill from there, the wife filed for divorce and my dog left me. I am fed thru a tube and I catheterize myself when I have to go to the bathroom, because I CAN'T STOP PLAYING THIS GAME. I've had it for a few years now and I keep coming back to it. All the other games I have, Half-life, Quake, et.al., get boring after I've beaten them. But with CC:A Bridge too Far, I can make the battles a lot harder, so the game is always a challenge.
I've played the demo version of CC III The Russian Front, and it just didn't seem to hold me like A Bridge Too Far.
All the rest of the strategy military games are indescribably lame, with their picture of a tank that is supposed to represent 10 tanks or whatever. Then, with the other games, you have to play in turn. Not so in A Bridge Too Far, its in realtime. The commander that spots the opening first and exploits it, succeeds.
