I am not by far your typical run of the mill flight sim-playing gamers. In fact I enjoy 1st and 3rd person RPGs more then any other type game on the market, but when Crimson Skies was on sale for Christmas I just had to buy it for my husband who is by far one of the most Tog Gun wannabes in existance! I have sat and watched him play numerous flight sims over and over and he enjoys them greatly but Crimson Skies offered up a new style of game play combined with the flight sim elements he liked and a not your typical story line that keeps one enthralled. I enjoy watching him play since it seems more like a good action flic at times from the 30s then a computer game. The style, the gameplay, and the feeling of just being a hero make it a well worth it addition to any flight sim players collection if they are willing to toss traditional gameplay and scenarios aside.
From a technical standpoint the game was installed on am AMD 750 with 128 megs of RAM, ATI Rage 128 video card, Soundblaster 16 bit sound card. So as you see not the most primed of systems for high end game play. But the game plays remarkably well... there is some sluggishness in video clips/audio that were eliminated with the larger install.
