Often called one of the best games of all-time, Doom 2.. although by many called extinct and antique by computer video game standards today it is an excellent example of how games were and should be made.
The entertainment factor of this game is really high. It is an action-shooter game that has you shooting monsters and other players with an assortment of weapons, while figuring out puzzles to get through the levels of the game.
The multiplayer part of the game is excellent. Everything moves great, almost as if you were playing it by yourself which is very hard to find these days. You can play with up to 4 players, either cooperatively or against each other.
The replay value of this game is unbelievable. There are several difficulty levels which can change the game dramatically. You can also easily manipulate the game by using custom levels downloaded from the internet or created by yourself! You can also download alternate graphics and sounds.
Now, the graphics and sounds are a little below average for today's standards but the motions in this game are flawless. Everything moves together smoothly and for it's time was pretty much state-of-art.
The Bottom Line
It's hard to find a lovable game with below-average graphics and very little bugs, but this is it. Doom 2 is a simple-to-use, multiplayer game that can run on almost any computer and can provide many hours of fun. I recommend it to anyone.
