MrGrim's Full Review: Realms of the Haunting for Windows
I don't care if you have a Pentium III-800 or a Pentium 120; if you haven't played this game then you are missing out on one of the most finely crafted stories I have ever seen. My friend loaned this game to me a few months ago and I still think about it. The video is cheesy, the interface is a little clumsy, and the game engine is circa 1990; but the story of the game more than makes up it.
If I sit here and type about the plot, I'll ruin it for you. I don't want to do that. This game is far too precious for that sort of behavior. All I will tell you is that it is an adventure/RPG/action game with full motion video sequences. There are some pretty decent puzzles in the game, which provide a good balance to the Doom-alike action pieces.
You can probably pick it up at a used software store for five bucks but trust me - it'll keep you enthralled for several days. I still can't believe how nicely done it is. It's just plain impressive.
