Rogue Squadron is not a game of chance. It requires great piloting skills and the ability to fire at any given moment with a high level of accuracy. The player also has to follow directions, which, when carried out well enough, will result in medals being awarded. Each medal (bronze, silver, and gold) is awarded based on requirements, such as a certain percentage of accuracy and the time it took to complete the level. Some targets include Tie Fighters, probes, AT-ATs, and AT-STs (chicken walkers). You also get to pilot numerous crafts: the X-wing, the A-wing, the Speeder, the Y-wing, the V-wing, the Millennium Falcon (with a cheat), and a captured Tie Fighter (with a cheat). There is a narrator that can tell you about each craft and about the mission. Furthermore, people talk to you during missions to help you along. You have radar which shows red dots for enemies, green dots for friends, blue dots for neutral, whispy white patches for elevated areas, and an orange mark to tell you where you should be going. You have a small picture of your craft with various colorings, from green or blue being perfect to red being almost dead. You have lasers (different setups for each craft) and secondary weapons. The A, X, and V-wings have missiles. The Speeder has a tow cable (to trip AT-ATs). The Y-wing has bombs. The Millennium Falcon has an extra amount of missiles, and the Tie Interceptor has nothing (not even shields) but rapid lasers. All in all, the game is a great flight simulator that gives you the chance to be in Luke's seat. It flows smoothly and the missions are clearly defined. The missions are certainly not repetetive and require alertness to progress successfully through the ranks. I hope that this epinion helped you make a good decision about Rogue Squadron, and please comment and/or give suggestions about this opinion.
