Brenda_R's Full Review: Tonka Construction for Windows, Mac
Tonka Construction is a great game. My 5 year old son loves construction equipment, so we bought this for his 3rd birthday. It was the first of the Tonka games we bought him, and he loves it. He is constantly asking for the rest of the games. He has three of them now.
The game is very easy to play and understand. The graphics are good. Help is always available, and you can really understand what the characters are saying when they are telling you what to do and when they are helping you.
Some of the tasks are a little tricky at first, but if your child has good mousing skills, he will pick up on them very quickly. My son runs the trucks better than I do.
One very nice feature of the program is the step by step instructions on what to do next. They will tell you what truck to use, etc, but they also let you play around a little. You are not forced to do only what you are supposed to do (at least in some areas).
The garage is really neat. The kids get to build trucks, paint them, and then take them for a test drive. They don't actually get to drive them, but they can push all the buttons, etc.
On another note, the other Tonka games we have (Tonka Garage and Tonka Raceway) are also great games. They follow the same format and give the kids even more to do. They will keep him busy for hours if I let him.
I would definitely recommend this product to any child over the age of 3 who likes the "big construction equipment"
