Designed by Ambrosia Software, Barrack is a game that combines strategy with action. It's a very fun, challenging game, that will keep you entertained for hours.
In the game of Barrack, you get a screen filled with balls (called pawn balls). You need to isolate the balls in the smallest area possible in order to get the maximum amount of points. You are in charge of this gun that shoots divider bars across the screen. The divider bars you shoot will separate the screen, or will eliminate parts of the screen. You need to isolate the balls within 80% in order to go to the next round. Each round you move onto, another ball is added. As you go on into higher levels the game gets very difficult as you may have 10-15 balls to isolate.
When you shoot the divider bar across the screen, you need to make sure to do this at the right time. If your timing is off, the bar could bounce off one of the balls - thus causing your bar to disappear and you have to try all over again. If you hit a ball with the bar divider, you also lose a turn. You can win special bonuses to help make your divider bars go across the screen faster, and other items that make your game a bit easier to play.
As you advance in levels, you will run into different balls & other things that make the game much harder. Here are some of these:
Fruit Ball
The fruit ball is very similar to the pawn balls that you start the game out with. The only difference with these balls is that if they are hit, they travel much faster and get bounced around a lot.
Glass Ball
The glass ball can be hit two times, either by the divider bar or another ball. If it gets hit more than twice, it breaks into a million pieces.
Sentry Ball
The Sentry Ball has an eye built into it. When you shoot your bar dividers, this ball will watch you and try to run into your divider to make it disappear.
Ooze Ball
The Ooze Ball is nasty. This one is timed before it splits into a whole bunch of pawn balls - something that you do not want. You need to isolate the Ooze Ball all by itself as soon as possible, or you're in for really bad luck.
Nuke Ball
The Nuke Ball is your friend. Basically you need to isolate as many other balls as possible in a small space with the Nuke Ball. Once you make the space small enough, the Nuke Ball will explode everything in the area, thus eliminating the amount of balls you have on your screen.
Land Shark
The Land Shark is an evil guy. He follows your shooter around and tricks you. If he ends up hitting your shooter, he will make you loose a life. You can get rid of him for awhile by isolating him in an area to destroy him.
It's fun playing challenge games of Barrack with your friends. My husband and I compete to get the highest score.
Barrack is a very fun and interesting game. It's unique because I've never seen anything like it before. For this game, you need to us your mind to think things out before you make a move.
