Armored Core: Master of Arena,a customization masterpiece. This game has
many high points. Those include the following : Customization ; Plenty of weapons ;
Different Styles ; Mission & Arena. Those are just the main highpoints.
The many missions are fun. With a wide variety of missions to choose from (usually
two at a time or so), its not as limited as Project Phantasma. The Arena makes a nice fun
place. You get easy money there and NPC duels. Not to mention free parts sometimes
from your sponsor. I like the direction this game took rather then Project Phantasma.
The customization is amazing. You can change the color of your Mobile Suit or
AC. Each part of the Mech, has different sectors to change the color of using the
base of Green, Blue, and some other color. With these three base colors you can make
just about any color. (Yes black as well, not the cheesy dark gray) So you could have
purple legs and bright orange chest, with green arms, and a yellow helm. Its cool.
They have quite a wide variety of weapons to choose from. There are laser cannons, all
the way to just normal machine guns. The back weapons, can be radars, rocket launchers,
or even bigger laser cannons! Its lots of fun rigging your Mech up to be either
super powerful and slow, or small and agile.
You can choose from several actual different body parts, such as legs, core, etc. My
character resembles Wing Zero as best I could from Gundam Wing :-). You can choose
humanoid legs, tank type base, and a spiderish four legged thing. Of course there are
several models for each. You can choose humanoid arms, or arms that come preequiped
with rocket launchers or gatling guns. Your helm mainly affects the usefulness of your
map/radar. The core affects ... something.. heh... You can get different engines and
‘beam sabers’ and boosters etc...
This game is a cool game and should be added to any mecha fans library, or for anyone
looking for fun multi player gaming because it just rocks. The beam saber battles you
and a friend can have are real fun. I enjoyed the game for three straight days of playing.
