Not the true King of Fighters!

Pros: Graphics, big character selection, good variety of moves
Cons: Animation leaves just a little to be desired, the difficulty will probably throw some people off, and it doesn't have a very deep combo system

Well as one of the first SNK fighting games to make it to Playstation, this doesn't quite show how good of a company SNK really is. The fighting is good, but the fighting engine falls short of great fighters like Street Fighter. King of Fighters 95 is classic SNK fighting with some of your favorite fighters. The selection of characters is huge, but the game just doesn't shine like some other 2-D fighters.
The graphics in this game are classic SNK style. Not bad at all. They look good, but the characters' movements aren't the best. Some of the animations lack, but not too drastically. The movements aren't as fluid as I would like. The backgrounds are very nice and add great style to this game. The backgrounds are some of the best.
The fighting engine in this game isn't as good as other 2-D fighters. The combo system needs some real fixing. There are juggles, but only after certain moves, and the combos just aren't that numerous. This fighting game engine was decent in the arcades, but just doesn't do it on the home console. The fighting is still fun and is still the same old classic SNK way. Just don't expect it to be superb.
The difficulty level of this game is high. This game is one of the hardest 2-D fighters. Moves aren't as easy to combo and moves are difficult to perform consistently. With some practice this can be over come, but it still is difficult compared to other fighters. The super moves in this are awesome, but are very difficult to pull off consistently, especially in a combo. This is a factor that might turn people of this game.
As a whole the game is basic SNK fighting. It isn't as good as some of their other fighters or some of the Playstation's other 2-D fighters. The game is fun, but the difficulty will turn some people off. The graphics aren't bad, but the animations lack a little. If you like SNK fighters then pick this one up. If you aren't familiar with SNK fighters then I suggest you don't start with this one. The game is good, but not the best. It is not by any means "The King of Fighters".
If you don't like 2-D fighters at all, then DO NOT pick this one up! You will not like it.
