JJFTAP's Full Review: NBA Live 99 for PlayStation 1
NBA Live '99 is a basketball lover's god. Though I enjoy basketball not as my favorite sport and my mom says I'm a negative person, this is still a game to consider, basketball fan or not. Though there are a few rough spots in this game, everyone makes mistakes, especially these tiny ones in Live.
NBA Live's graphics are nothing that special during real game play, but instant replay graphics look like NBA 2K's for the Dreamcast. Though, as I said, there is nothing special about this game's graphics, they are good enough to help the game play. The graphics have a weird turn on the Bulls when a Michael Jordan-like character wears #99 instead of #23. Was that worth mentioning? Probably, it's just an FYI to you who may have this game and didn't realize, or you just don't like the Bulls.
The background music isn't my favorite music genre on the face of the Earth, an R&B mix. The announcer is named something like Don Boyer. I've never heard of him, but he's a pretty good announcer anyway. Go ahead and comment if you know.
The control is very, very good on this game. Your command doesn't just sort of work, it does work. The controls are kept simple, though they could have been easier. I have nothing much else to say about the control.
This is one good game for a basketball fan of any age, big or small, old or young, whatever. So, if you don't have this game, you should go and buy it.
