Haven't you always wanted to be the supreme ruler of something? Well now you can with Sim City 2000. This is an excellent game by Maxis. You are the mayor of a large piece of land and it is your job to nurture your tiny town into a booming industrial city. You can choose when to start your city. Whether you start in the year 1900 or 2500 is up to you. You zone residential, industrial, and commercial zones, then entice people into coming to your city with low taxes, good education, good health care, and low crime rates. As mayor it is your responsibility to see that everyone gets electricity and water and that crime is not out of control.
Also for the evil side of you there are the natural disasters. You can invoke hurricanes, fires, riots, plane crashes, tornadoes, and even monsters. Then you must dispatch your policemen, firemen, and soldiers to protect your city. For the especially destructive person you can always shoot down helicopters and have them crash into large industrial areas, causing a huge fire.
The graphics in this game are not stellar but they are good. Also this game teaches people about money management, and important areas like education and crime while they have fun. I would recommend this game to anyone who sometimes has the urge to have several statues made in their honor.
