There are now 3 South Park video games out there. I thought I was choosing the best of the three when I bought this one, but I hope I'm wrong.
This game left everything to be desired. The cars don't control well, the graphics aren't too great, and the tracks aren't fun. The only thing that is remotely fun about this is if you're trying to get to an objective (i.e. finish the game). Even so, it's a fairly boring trip.
The first of my gripes: you can't save your story mode until you've completed so many races and win. This is discouraging as you start out and finally beat the first few levels. You aren't allowed to put it down and pick it up to continue later as you'd lose what you've already accomplished. Not fun.
Second: The graphics are choppy. They aren't nearly as clear and concise as one would hope from a playstation game. Instead, they are as flat and 2-dimensional as the tv show is. This may all be well and good for some, but with the possibilities that are out there you'd hope for a better visual experience.
Third: Each of the characters has a car with different handling abilities. Some are faster, some are more easily maneuvered. The difference between the cars though is fairly negligible as they all are pretty difficult to control.
Good things about this game: there are "secret" characters to unlock as you make your various accomplishments. There are different levels to unlock as well, each with a different objective and a different course. There are 4 different levels to play at, ranging from kids to adults with some levels in-between. You have the option of playing with or without computer opponents in two-player mode.
Overall, I'd leave this game for a possible rental on an inclement weekend. There isn't much use to keeping the game around as it doesn't have much re-play value in my opinion. It gets boring fast and is more like work than play.
