caillin's Full Review: The World is Not Enough for PlayStation 1
The World Is Not Enough is a great playstation game. It successfully captures the movie while still supplying something new to the gamers. Most of the game consists of continuing levels that portray part of the movie but there is one level that requires you to just gamble and raise 100,000 dollars at a Black Jack table (very James Bond if you ask me). This game is a first person shooter, which I'm partial to, with extras such as different weapons and gadgets to use throughout. Objects in Bond's inventory include: Guns, a communicator and a finger print scanner built into his phone.
The graphics are reasonable good and gameplay is smooth. Movie sequences from the film appear throughout the game and you will actually find on occasions knowledge from the film can aid you in passing certain areas. There are two main ways to play this game, Rambo style, which is basically charging in and blasting everything is sight. The other is stealth mode. This one is beneficial in some levels such as the first level which has Bond trying to make his way through a secured building. Alerting the surveillance cameras would result in security guards coming out to shoot you and although they are easy enough to kill they unnecessary deplete your ammo and give you damage. If you manage to shoot out the cameras you can pass through unobserved.
The only real criticism I have is the fact that "M" and "James Bond" do not have the voices of Judy Dench and Pierce Brosnan within the gameplay itself. This is a small issue however, because if you are dying to here Pierce Brosnan then the movie clips should keep you satisfied. I enjoyed this game immensely and I encourage anyone to buy it. It's interesting, fun and although differs from the movie plot occasionaly, it does try and stay true to the movie.
