Finally the skateboarding community has a game to call its own. After a few failed attempts at creating a realistic skateboarding game, Neversoft came through with one of the most popular games of 1999.
The controls are very simple and easy to get used to. In a matter of minutes one could be skating like a pro and be doing tricks like Evel Knievel!
One of the things that captures your attention from the very second that you start to play is how realistic the game is. Everything from their facial features, clothes, stance, form of skating and look were taken into consideration. While playing with a skater you'll notice how different and accurate everyone's style is.
Everyone of the skaters has their own set of tricks, grinds and special moves. A nice feature of the game is that it has both vert and street skaters. Most of the levels are modeled after real skate parks and skate spots that are very popular. All the levels are half vert and street courses. There is never a chance of you getting tired of playing this game, with so many combinations of tricks and stunts to try and pull off.
The background music perfectly fits the game. Music types range from punk, ska and hardrock. No matter what song is playing - it'll get you pumped up and ready for skating.
