From the day the first THPS came out, it changed skateboarding game forever. One look at those crazy tricks and tracks and u had to try it out. The aspect of linking tricks into combos gave it enough depth to play for months. Tony Hawk 2 is just as good as the first one, but with a couple of rough spots.
Neversoft has made the objectives in the game way too difficult t the point of frustration. Even the "simple" objectives take hours to preform. I mean, in the 'School II" level, it took me hours to figure out what a Roll Call Rail was, and then I had to grind every single part of it to get credit. Can u say DIFFICULT?
Despite the flaws, Tony Hawk 2 manages to surpass the first game. Even though some levels are less realistic and sometimes overwhelming, they're tons of fun and packed with cool details.
The fact that u can create a skater and skatepark is cool. Even though creating a character is only mildly fun, (considering u can only change the appearance and name) the skatepark feature is awesome. You can have fun for hours creating a brand new park for you and your friends.
Overall, Tony Hawk 2 has everything The first game had, and more. It's frustrating at times, but the sheer fun of the game makes up for that.
