grantzprice's Full Review: Warzone 2100 for PlayStation 1
Warzone 2100 is a really intense game and gets tough quickly (which I like). I really hate it when a game is too easy after you do the tutorial and start learning the ropes. This one seems to adjust to your skill level and just when you start getting board - it beats you. The technology is alright, the user interface is very rough and it is not very intuitive. It is rather hard to select many items on the battlefield, I wish they would take the lead of a game like civilization or warcraft and just use the 3d motion thing with it.
This biggest gripe, or compliment, that I have with this game is that a stage can last two hours and there is a definite timeline. If there wasn't you would play for 4-5 hours at a time - believe me.
You tend to have to use every second of that time unless you started planning earlier in the missions (because you carry over forces from one stage to the next).
I wish I could go back just one stage and prepare - but tonight I will start all over again. Because I didn't do the proper planning with resources and equipment.
I would buy this game, but only if you have a lot of time on your hands, or this is your way of blowing off steam.
It involves more brain power than TV - and I think that's good sometimes.
