mrdowny13's Full Review: Swing Away Golf for PlayStation 2
I wanted to write and tell everyone about Swing Away Golf for the Playstation 2. I rented this game because my wife wanted to play a golf game. I am not a big fan of golf games, but I do love sports games, so I agreed to give it a shot. We went right home to try this game out, and boy was I surprised. The graphics of the game are rich and full of detail down to the hills and clouds in the background. I also loved the caddy feature, which I have never seen in a golf game before. You pick a caddy and based on their skill level and experience in golf they give you advice. There are caddies that are smart, dumb, and down right rude to you. This adds that little extra that games like Tiger Woods Golf does not have. Well this was just the tip of the iceberg for this game, because you can go into career mode and win tournaments and buy new equipment. I also like the option to build your own course and then play it.
I just want to say in closing that this game has nice graphics, is easy to learn, and is downright fun to play. My wife and I spent about 5 hours that day playing head-to-head. The best part of all, it got her into playing video games with me and not telling me to spend more time with her! I believe that even at $50 it is worth the price. Two thumbs up!
