Special Features:
New Interface in an arcade style.
Options: each game has an options button where you can configure lives, difficulty, bonus levels and more depending on the game.
Save: You are able to save your high scores, they appear just like they do in any arcade unit.
1-2 Players
Requires a Memory Card (for PS2) - 80 kb
Uses an Analog Control: you are able to use the directional pad also, which I find helpful for certain games. Some games do not work well with the 360 analog controls, it can cause you to move in undesired directions, therefore I would recommend using the directional pad which will only let you move up, down, left and right just like the games.
Interesting Features:
During the choosing mode, 80s music plays in the background - very interesting 80s music. But who am I to complain, plus it is only during the short interval of choosing your game to play.
Ratings: "Everyone 10 plus for Cartoon Violence and Mild Lyrics [esrb content rating]"
As it says on the back of the box, "no quarters required!" I love to play old arcade games, every time I am at the miniature golfing place I play pac-man or something similar. Sometimes simple is fun. I also enjoy having my parents come over and play a few rounds, it is interesting to see my old folks play a video game (and a good reason for them to come over as well).
The Catch Bonus:
You must unlock two of the most favorite games: Pac Man 2 and Galaga 88. To unlock Galaga 88 you must play the original galaga and score 40,000 points. This is not difficult: first set the number of live to five. By doing this you should be able to unlock galaga 88 in just a few tries no matter how good you are with video games.
To unlock Pac Man 2, it is a bit more complicated. Be sure to alter the number of live just like before (This can be done in the options menu before selecting the game). Then you will need to get 15,000 points in Pac Man and the 20,000 points in Ms Pac Man. This might take a while unless you are a pro like my mother, she always played pac man as a child and still has the touch. Well, good luck unlocking the games.
My Favorite Games:
Galaga 88: This newer version of Galage features more graphics for background and animations. You have the option of starting out with two ships side by side which is a helpful advantage to move through the stages. The main bosses are very challenging and will require a few tries before any novice player can beat them. Many levels and lots of fun.
Rolling Thunder: A simple shoot-em up game. You have a gun with limited ammo, however you can upgrade your weapons and replenish your ammo. The problem is that you die almost with any touch or shot from the 'bad guys.' So it takes some time to get use to and then you figure out that you are able to jump. The options in this game let you do something like no other, become invulnerable! So you can beat the entire game and perfect your skills. A challenging game, that's why I like this one.
I found this game at Best Buy for $19.99, however you can buy it online new or used for much less. I'd recommend this game for children and adults. It does not contain some of the nudity and violence that is instilled in the new games yet it is also simple for little kids to learn and play. Adults, well they grew up with these during the 80s, nostalgia never dies.
We offer gift wrapping service on this item for an additional charge of $4.99 . Game will be wrapped in Christmas wrapping paper before shipment. USE ...More at eBay
