I sat here thinking of a word describing this game but could not come up with anything by AMAZING, simply amazing. It allows you to play as MANY empires ranging from Britons to Byzantines to Chinese to Vikings, but this is only a few of the empires there are 20 empires to play as. You can pick to play against 1 computer to 7 computers and you can control who's team who is on, and you can also control what empire each person is (there is a "random" civilization). You can choose to play a scenario or a normal map that is based on a real world place, such as, Arabia is a desert map you can play on. Scenarios (usually a RPG but can be any type of game) can be made by anyone using an easy-to-use editor in the game, which allows you to create just about anything from plots of ground that make your units do a lot of damage and have lots of health to a plot of land that makes units. This game is, like I said earlier, amazing. I still play this game a lot even though it is 10 years old, and I have no plans on stopping.

Something to keep in mind though, is this is an EXPANSION. You must have Age of Empires: Age of Kings to play this.

 Another thing to note is that this was made when Windows XP was out and when played on Windows Vista or Windows 7 the grass and water become really strange colors. To make the colors normal right-click the program, click properties, compatibility, then click the box that says "Run this program in compatibility for:" then in the drop down box click Windows XP (Service Pack 2).
