Pros: Vast world, great graphics, great AI and many ways to play, it never gets old
Cons: the Windows version has expansion packs and cheats and codes, which this one doesn't.
The Bottom Line: I greatly recommend this to someone who enjoys Magic and doing whatever you want, because its an amazing game which I think just about anyone can enjoy.
pheonixreborn's Full Review: The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind for Xbox
Imagine a world. not just any world but a world in which you can do anything. now take the world and place it into a game and add people. thats pretty much what Morrowind is.
To be honest, my first impression on this game was horrible. I thought. "this game won Game of the year?!" and wished i hadn't bought it. but, later on I was drawn back into playing it and had a second opinion on it.
This game takes magic and all that is mystical and combines it into a mystical medieval time period, you start the game as a prisoner on a boat to a small city in Morrowind. You select your Name, Race, appearance and then you select a class of your choosing, however, there are 3 ways to do this. Select your class from a large list, anser questions to receive a class which fits you (if you anser truthfully), or create your own.
Gameplay : 10/10
Playing this game you'll feel like your really this person you've created, as in if your a dark elf magician or an Imperial Magic sword, or maybe even just a Wood elf thieve who steals and shoots guards with his bow while using magic that will aid his escape. you start off on a quest to Balmora, the first real big community. however, the story in this game doesn't matter, you can just say "who cares and kill a villager and plunder stuff even at level one if you play your cards right. there are 6 stats, Strength, Endurance, Intelligence, Willpower, Luck, and Speed. the way to level up and raise your stats (decently) is different than most games. there are skills which if you create your own Class you can choose which ones you major in. theres almost too many skills to list, but each is owned by a stat, and every time you level up a skill a point (depending if it a major or semi major, or just a misc skill) you get a point towards your level up, however, only major and semi major stats can add onto this. only 10 points are needed to level up, however, you need a bed or a safe area (there are some strange acceptions) to do this. one of the good yet bad things about this is that if your in a dungeon and you can't leave because your lost, even if your exp is 16/10 your not going to level up, however, if you have 30/10, you can level up later and level up 3 times, though you sleep 3 times, However this is not advised. now listen closely why you should NEVER do this (unless you have some money on you and your willing to spend it) ok, the reason is, all the point boosts you got from whatever you raised will be used up on the first level. but do not just level up and get over with it. you can raise a misc skill and get a small boost that will make it so your character atleast gets a decent stat boost. this game also allows you to kill people, like guards, shop keepers, or just people you just plain don't like. but a bad thing is that they never come back. even if they are important to the story, though it will tell you that you might wanna restart if this happens, as following the story line will make you stronger, and sooner or later you'll be just about immune to every illness in the game, which is good because I don't think you want to have your stats nearly permanently lowered. a note to think about while just wanting power and getting bored, there are ways to improve stats, skills, jumping and swimming abilities permanently, but if you ever want to do that look it up, the technique is usable on just about anything, though it would not be wise to do it with levitate because you'll never come down, you might also want to save.
Story
I'm not going to grade this, as of even though my stats are beyond maxed (I got them to the maxed point first though) I didn't beat the story yet, I'm too busy causing mayhem and summoning creatures to do my bidding.
Music 10/10
very good, and fits in.
Graphics 10/10
they are pretty good, especially since it was made in like 2003.
there are some things I didn't really mention that much, like magic, which is split into Conjuration, Destruction, Restoration, Alteration, Illusion, and I think thats just bout it. but, I'll let you figure out magic on your own, as you can create your own and buy hundred of useless spells which you'll soon throw away because alot of them are just about the same.
