Pros: Nice smell; Flakes are lessened
Cons: Itch relief is only average or below.
I have dry scalp and dry hair and of the two, the dry scalp is the one that causes the most problems. A good moisturizing shampoo made for dry hair and sometimes a conditioner are enough to control dry hair, but dry scalp is another story. There are, however, some shampoos made to help solve the problem of a dry scalp while also controlling the dandruff flakes that come with it and one of them is Garnier Fructis Dry Scalp Dandruff Shampoo.

Garnier Fructis Anti- Dandruff Dry Scalp shampoo is a newer product in the Garnier lineup and one of a few products made by Garnier specifically for dandruff control. This shampoo is made to stop flaking and itching, with special ingredients that fight the problems associated with dandruff and help return the scalp to normal.
I have had to deal with dry hair and dry scalp for years and the problems continues to worsen each year. Flaking and itching are common problems for me and while my problems are not terrible, they are significant enough that I will reach for anti- dandruff and dry scalp shampoo at least once per week. This is about all I need to keep my problem under control and even though I have my favorites, I am always game to try something new and when I saw that Garnier offered an anti- dandruff and dry scalp product in one shampoo, I decided it was time to try it.
Garnier Fructis Anti- Dandruff Dry Scalp shampoo looks different from the usual Garnier product. Most of the others are golden, clear, and sold in a see- through packages. This one is white and more paste- like, similar to other anti- dandruff shampoos or conditioners. It works up a very good amount of lather and it takes take a little more effort to rinse clean, but it will remove itself from the hair and scalp soon enough.
Garnier Fructis Anti- Dandruff Dry Scalp shampoo is formulated with vitamins and special ingredients meant to take care of dandruff and itching, but does it work as promised? The answer is yes, but not perfectly. I do notice a difference in flaking when I use this shampoo, but I can’t say that the itching is much different. I like that the product produces a tingly feeling on the scalp because it makes it seem like the shampoo is doing something worthwhile. I also like the cleaning ability, which I find just as good as any other Garnier Fructis shampoo. The problem I have is with the itching. I don’t find myself scratching the way I once did, but there is still some itch.
There is one other specific appeal with Garnier Fructis Anti- Dandruff Dry Scalp shampoo that all will notice when they go shopping: The low price. Like other Garnier shampoos, this one is often priced at only $3 to $3.50 per 13 ounce bottle, making it one of the cheapest anti- dandruff products you can buy. And coupons for Garnier are commonplace, making an already low price even lower.
Overall, Garnier Fructis Anti- Dandruff Dry Scalp shampoo is a good shampoo and it is worth trying to see if it can control your dry scalp, itching, and dandruff. It earns good marks for its scent and dandruff control, but average or below marks for its itch relief. All and all, it is still a good product with enough positive qualities to recommend.
