The Bottom Line: Not the best season, but still entertaining.

Plot Details: This opinion reveals minor details about the movie's plot.

This is the 2nd half of Season 3.  For whatever reason, the Ghost Hunter's seasons are split into two.  Probably so you look like you have an impressive collection of DVD's on your shelf.  Or at least we'll go with that.  But it's not a series that needs to be watched in order.  You could start anywhere and be content.

Ghost Hunters follows TAPS (The Atlantic Paranormal Society) as they go to different sites, attempting to prove or disprove hauntings.  Their main goal is of disproving hauntings as they say most places don't have any paranormal activity at all.  They load up the team, go to a place and set up their equipment and then investigate all night.  Then, after they've had their experience, they take time to evaluate what they've collected and present their findings to the client.

They use a variety of different equipment.  EMF detectors for electro-magnetic fields, temperature gauges for cold spots, cameras and video equipment.  They explain in each episode what everything is and how they use it.  So you can always be assured of knowing why they are doing what they are doing.  The video is sometimes clear, sometimes not.  Really, when they're working in the dark, it's sometimes amazing that it is as clear as it is.  Although there is probably better equipment out there.  And the audio, when you can hear it, it's clear.  But they use a lot of sound effects and music so it's hard to hear what's going on all the time.

They have a main core cast through this season.  The founders, Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson, who are also the lead investigators.  Jason is the gruff one, Grant is the sensitive one, but they work well together.  Steve Gonsalves is the tech manager and I enjoy watching him and his phobias.  Another investigator, Brian Harnois, I'm not as fond of, but at least he's more mature in this season than other ones.  Dave Tango is another favorite, he's just so goofy and earnest that you can't help but like him.  And then Donna and Kris, the girls, who add a different style of investigating to the guy's team.

They go to mainly famous places in this season.  The USS Lexington, Warwick City Hall, Henson Studies, Manson House, Northern State Hospital, Seattle Underground Tunnels, Presidio, Lullaby Lane, Moore Theatre, Sprague Mansion, Lyceum Restaurant, Waverly Hills Sanatorium and private residences.  I think the private residences were actually better than the big places.  They seemed more authentic.  Although there wasn't anything wildly exciting in any of these episodes really.  And their live Halloween episode, both this season and last, I gotta ask.  Why on earth bring wrestlers on the investigation?  It just doesn't make sense to me.   Still, there were some exciting moments in this season.  And it was entertaining to watch.

For paranormal investigating, I think this is one of the better shows out there.  It's more grounded than some of the others, and more believable.
