| louvre99's Full Review: Angel Park Golf Club - Palm Course |
I was so spoiled to have played at Angel Park...it is comparable to any private country club in my area (Boston).
First of all, the grounds are extremely well maintained and groomed. Supposedly, there was a drought when I was in Las Vegas, but you would never tell from the way the courses held up.
The Palm course, where I played, is the easier of the two courses at Angel Park. As a novice, I was sufficiently challenged, but I was playing with a women who plays at the collegiate level and she was also challenged. www.angelpark.com has maps of the holes, so don't just take my word for it, look at the course!
While the mountain course was closed during my visit, I was told that it is a bit more challenging and equally beautiful.
The Executive or Par 3 course is fantastic. Each hole is modeled after a famous hole (from St. Andrews, Pebble Beach, Augusta, etc)...they are just a little shorter. I loved playing on this course. There were some pretty challenging shots and plenty of well-placed hazards. However, as a beginner, I was never discouraged.
The staff at Angel Park, from the bag room to the course hosts to the Pros, is fantastic. Everyone was so pleasant and accommodating!
I took lessons with the Pros who use the Resort Golf method. It was a great experience.
Location-wise, Angel Park is right off of Summerlin Parkway and Route 95. This makes it extremely easy to find, which I can't say for all the courses out in Las Vegas. If you are going to Las Vegas for vacation, treat yourself to a round or to some lessons at Angel Park. You will love it!
