Finding a sleeve for my 14.1” HP laptop was a bit of a challenge.  I wanted one that was well-made, durable, and most importantly it had to provide a good fit.  Most of the laptop cases or sleeves I saw in the stores were for 15.6” screen laptops or larger.  When I found the Golla 14” Brown/Pink Laptop Sleeve I thought I’d finally found what I was looking for.
 
The Laptop Sleeve and Features

The Golla 14 inch brown and pink laptop sleeve has a dark chocolate brown exterior with a stitched abstract floral design. The bright pink interior is made of plush corduroy fabric.  Between the brown nylon exterior and the pink corduroy fabric there is a light amount of padding material.

The laptop sleeve has one top zipper that is 18 inches long; it runs along the top and about 3 inches down each side of the sleeve.  Since the sleeve provides such a tight fit, having the zipper run down the sides helps make it easier to insert and remove the laptop.

There are no pockets inside or outside the sleeve.  Accessories such as a mouse and power supply cord will need to be carried or stored elsewhere since the Golla 14 inch sleeve has no compartments for accessories. And since the sleeve provides such a tight fit around the laptop, there is virtually no extra room for putting anything else in it.  A couple of DVD’s (in envelops) and a memory stick might also fit into the sleeve along with the laptop, but that’s about it.

Another feature that the Golla 14 inch laptop sleeve lacks is an attached shoulder strap. There are also no clips for attaching a strap.  This makes the sleeve unpractical for travel, work, or school because you’ll still need an additional bag for carrying your laptop.  Of course you could just carry around your sleeved laptop like a book.

Because of the lack of features, my Golla 14 inch laptop sleeve is useful for home use only.  It’s a soft yet durable sleeping bag for my HP 14.1 inch laptop, and that’s about it.  My laptop sleeps in the Golla sleeve a few times a week. 

I would like to be able to tuck my laptop into the sleeve every night, but since it fits so tightly, it’s a chore putting it in and taking it out.

Construction and Durability

Compared to many other laptop sleeves and cases, the Golla 14 inch laptop sleeve is extremely well made.  The stitching is even and the seams are tight.  I’ve been using my Golla laptop sleeve for about a year, and the seams are still intact; there are no hanging threads or looseness at the seams.  The zipper has also held up very well, I’ve never had a problem with it.

The materials used for the Golla sleeve are durable and appear to be of superior quality.  The nylon exterior is tough, sturdy, and can handle light moisture.  The plush corduroy interior is holding up nicely; no thinning of the material and no pill-balls.

I have not dropped my Golla sleeved laptop, but have banged it and kick it around quite a bit.  So far, there has been no damage to my laptop. 

Overall…
I’m very impressed with the quality of construction and the materials used in making the Golla 14 inch laptop sleeve.  Many of the sleeves, bags, and cases that I had looked at (in local stores) had shoddy sewing at the seams and loose threads. 

The quality of the materials and size of the Golla laptop sleeve heavily influenced my purchase.  If it was not so well-made, I wouldn’t have purchased it – even if it was a good fit!

 I would not hesitate in purchasing another Golla brand product.
