Now my dog can pretend he's chasing and retrieving birds!

Pros:Durable, realistic-looking, fun, great squeaker (different than others), affordable.
Cons:None.
The Bottom Line: I'm impressed so much that I will be buying him the duck one in the future.
I have an American Cocker Spaniel and his favorite toy is just a plain old tennis ball. He does like squeaky toys, though as well, although the squeak can be ANNOYING when my son gets ahold of it. I wanted to get my dog something that looked real (like a bird) and had real noises, and I must say that my dog LOVES this toy like no other!
This Grriggles Squawk Flock Dog Toy in the Pheasant is wonderful. I picked up the Pheasant, although I wanted the Mallard Duck, but this is all the store carried. I paid $8.99 for it, which is about the average price. Amazon has it for $7.25 right now and qualifies for free shipping. It has a squeaker in it, but it's not the normal, high-pitched squeaker you hear in all dog toys (or toys from the dollar store). Rather this squeaker is low-pitched and sounds like a duck or bird that is honking (or squawking). It sounds a bit more realistic and my dog is in love with it.
My dog will chew on this for twenty minutes at a time. His breed's ancestry is known for retrieving ducks for duck hunters, so he likes to chase birds that is for sure. He will put it in his mouth, bite down and wiggle his head hard (which we call the death blow). He loves playing with it because it makes him think he has caught or brought back a real bird. We praise him for it, and throw it for him and just overall have fun with it.
So as far as it's holding up is that there is a little bit of fur material on it and my dog will pick at it with his teeth and tufts of fur will be on our floor. It has not gotten a hole in it yet, though and seems to be sturdy. It is big, like a real bird-size and not too small (yet not too big for his mouth). The site states it is 16.5 inches (that is from head to tail, though), the body is about 10 inches.
Since my dog seems to have so much fun with this toy, I will buy him the Mallard Duck Grriggles in the future when this one wears out. This one looks semi-realistic and has the coloring and different textures that a pheasant would have (even the feet) and the tail is very realistic. It's cute! I feel so bad for telling my dog that he cannot chase the birds, ducks, etc. at the park and keep him on a leash, but at home I can throw this for him and he feels like he is getting that feeling of chasing and retrieving a duck or bird.
Overall, I'm impressed with this Griggles Squawk Pheasant Dog Toy, my dog loves to play with it!
