Cons:Does not always blend fruit smoothly

The Bottom Line:

This blender is worth buying because it's easy to use, inexpensive, and cheaper than buying an ice blended coffee every day.

I've been using this Hamilton Beach one serve blender daily for almost a month now and so far I haven't had any major issues with it.  It's so much cheaper to blend my own beverages than to spend $4 every day for one.  I like to make my own ice blended coffees and will switch out to a fruit smoothie every now and then.  I've had no problems with the ice being blended in with the coffee.

One thing to keep in my mind is that this is a "pulse" button operation....meaning, you can't hold it down for more than a few seconds otherwise you get a burning motor smell (it happened to me once).  It's made to "pulse"... basically, you keep pushing the button in order to blend.  I shopped around and considered getting a larger blender or blender/food processor combo but ultimately, I needed something smaller and less cumberson storagewise (not to mention, I don't cook much).

One of the conveniences is that you can drink from the same cup you blend in but I choose not to because it's easier to clean if you pour the beverage in a separate cup and then wash out the blender cup immediately otherwise, you might have bits of food stuck on the inside of the cup or on the blades.  It also doesn't take up very much space when it's put away.

Overall, I am quite happy with my purchase considering this is the first blender of any type that I have owned not to mention the dollars I'm saving making my own drinks :)

*********UPDATE 3/17********
I am updating this review to answer some questions :)

I use about 8oz of liquid (soymilk or coffee for me) and then add in the ice or fruit. Once you add in the fruit or ice, you end up with a pretty full normal sized glass.  The first beverage I made, I added in 16oz because I wanted more, but it ended up overflowing out of the cup once I added in the ice and fruit.

As for how noisy this is, it's relatively quieter compared to a larger blender.  I could ideally have a normal conversation without feeling like I have to shout while pulsing :)
