Pros:many uses, price

Cons:glass bottle

The Bottom Line: If you are in need of vinegar, we would recommend Heinz Apple Cider Vinegar.

I use vinegar for many different things. For cleaning I will use any brand of vinegar but for cooking I like to use Heinz Apple Cider Vinegar.

Heinz Apple Cider Vinegar comes in a clear glass sixteen ounce bottle. The bottle has a white twist off top on it which is easy to open and close. You can see the cider vinegar through the bottle. I have seen Heinz Apple Cider Vinegar sold in a 16 ounce, 32 ounce and gallon sizes. I normally purchase the 16 ounce container. I had purchased the gallon container in the past because I do use vinegar a lot but then I had issues with storing it. The gallon container did not fit in my spice cabinet. I have since gone back to purchasing the 16 ounce container. I do purchase the gallon container during canning season when my husband makes pickles because he goes through a gallon and then some.

I use Heinz Apple Cider Vinegar for many different things. Of course I use it when cooking. I use it in red beet eggs, when making pickles, in marinades, in salad dressing, in the dressing for potato and macaroni salad and coleslaw. I add it to my eggs when I am hard boiling them to help them peel easy. I wash the dog with part apple cider vinegar to help with dry itchy skin and doggy odor. I have also used it on my scalp for dry itchy scalp. I have used it when cleaning. I use part bleach and part vinegar to clean my wash machine and dishwasher monthly. Heinz Apple Cider Vinegar has many different uses. I actually just saw on TV the other day that people use it to soak their stinky feet in. They use part water and part vinegar and it helps with foot odor.

The ingredients in Heinz Apple Cider Vinegar are apples that are diluted with water to a uniform pickling and table strength of 5% acidity.

One tablespoon is a serving of Heinz Apple Cider Vinegar. There are approximately 63 servings in a sixteen ounce bottle. Heinz Apple Cider Vinegar does not add any calories, just flavor to foods.

You can find Heinz Apple Cider Vinegar in most grocery stores in the aisle with other condiments. On sale I paid $1.50 for the sixteen ounce bottle. I normally keep a few bottles in stock because I do use it a lot. There is an expiration date on the bottle and it is best to be used by that date.

There are other brands of vinegar on the market. I do use cheaper brands for cleaning at times but I always have a bottle of Heinz Apple Cider Vinegar for cooking. I really don’t know if there is much of a taste difference when it comes to the different brands but I just like the Heinz brand for cooking.

The only thing I don’t like about Heinz Apple Cider Vinegar is that is still comes in a glass bottle. If you purchase the gallon container it is plastic but the sixteen ounce bottle is still made of glass. I just personally prefer a plastic bottle. I always worry with glass that I will drop it and it will break. I have never had an issue with a bottle breaking though.

Some may also have an issue with the smell of vinegar. It definitely has a distinct smell to it.

Heinz makes many different types of foods and condiments. It is a brand that I know and trust and it is made in the USA. Heinz makes other forms of vinegar too. They make distilled white, salad, red wine, malt, balsamic, tarragon, garlic wine, cleaning and unfiltered apple cider vinegar. I keep white distilled and red wine vinegar in my cupboards too. I have not tried the other varieties.

If you are in need of vinegar, we would recommend Heinz Apple Cider Vinegar.
