Ease of Use:
Pros:affordable, easy to install, decent quality print, ink widely available
Cons:noisy, software not windows xp approved (altaugh it will work)
The Bottom Line: For the price you really cannot go wrong!
I'm not a tech pro and I'm not going to write about the details or how this would compare to other products in the market. I found this printer for $59 at local Walmart and decided it was worth to spend extra $20 for the wireless and scanning features.

It came in a box well protected and inside a ecosolutions shopping bag with installation cd and ArcSoft Print Creations Greeting Card cd. Instructions for installing and setting it up were really simple, just make sure to follow step by step and full cartridges they give you with the printer will snap right on. If you do not want to install Bing toolbar to your computer make sure to uncheck that option before installing!
My first impressions of the actual printer was that it looks pretty cheap made. It also makes quite a bit of noise while setting up and printing. But then again it is $60 product so you cannot expect top of the line functions...
Wireless setup was super easy all I had to do is push my router button while printer is on and it picked it up under a minute. You can install HP Creations software to create products and edit photos and it tries to get you to open an account with Snapfish.com to use their services. You can just ignore it if wanted to, altough I have used Snapfish before for ordering postcards and I was impressed by their quality.
Another issue worth mentioning while running the installation was that my windows xp kept warning me that this is not their approved software I'm installing and can harm the operating system. You can just click continue anyway and it installs just fine. I would guess HP did not want to pay Windows to be their "approved" software?
My first scan copy smudged a little on the top line of writing, but was still clear enough to read and next page did print without a smudging so maybe that was a new cartridge issue. You can scan straight to e-mail or to your pc, and even choose to save the document as jpg pdf or tif I did print a photo just to see how it would look and I was quite impressed by the color quality. This will be a great option when my kids want to print out photos to show and give to their friends..
I cannot tell how durable this printer will be since I just got it but I will come back and update after using it a while. As of now it seems like great product for the price if you are looking for basic printer and scanner with some surprisingly advanced features for the price.
UPDATE after 4 months of use:
We are still happy with this printer and it has pretty good scan quality and it is really convenient that it is wireless so you can print or scan either from the laptop or the pc in our house. All printed papers have been clear, I've changed ink once so it came with pretty full ink cartridge to start up with. Only minus I've learned is that there is no slots anywhere for sd or any other memorycards in this printer.
Amount Paid (US$): 59
