If you love coffee, invest in this coffeemaker.
It is a fabulous machine!
I was first introduced to this coffeemaker at my in-law's house when I was dating my husband. He purchased this for his Mom and Dad for their anniversary. It made great coffee, and they seemed to love it.
A few years later, I broke our Mr. Coffee pot, and told my husband that we needed to get a new one. He suggested the Black and Decker with the carafe. I told him that I thought the price was too high,
and that we shouldn't waste our money. Fortunately, he didn't listen to me. We bought the Black and Decker coffeemaker, and it has become my favorite kitchen appliance.
Pros
• Thermal carafe with Thermos brand liner
This is the best feature on this coffeemaker. The coffee brews into the carafe, and then the Thermos liner keeps the coffee hot and fresh for hours. No more stale or burnt tastes. The carafe stays cool, while the coffee stays hot.
It transports easily, and will not spill. The carafe can be set on any surface and will not damage it.
• Automatic shut-off
This feature is a must for our family, as we forget to turn things off quite often. With this feature, if we do forget,
the machine turns itself off.
• Removable water reservoir
I like this feature very much. You just remove the water reservoir, and fill it with water, and place back in the machine. No pouring, or measuring. A full reservoir makes a full pot.
Cons
• Drips
The carafe tends to drip after pouring and screwing the
lid back on. This is not a major problem, but it does happen.
• Cleaning
Cleaning the carafe could be easier, but it isn't very bad. If you use a baby bottle brush or soak it for awhile it is fine. It does become stained inside and out, but most all coffee pots do. I wouldn't expect it to stay new looking after I use it 3 times every day.
All in all, this is the best coffeemaker I have ever owned. I would recommend it to anyone, even those who are frugal like myself. This is money well spent. If you are careful not to drop the carafe, it will last for years. Invest in this coffeemaker today for your family, you will be very happy with it.
