| lcloninger's Full Review: Bosch SHU53 24 in. Built-in Dishwasher |
After doing hours of online research and hours in the stores, we chose the Bosch SHU 53 series dishwasher. Reviews here on EPINIONS.com sure helped us to make our decision. We replaced our top of the line Kenmore with the Bosch and prayed that we did not make another mistake in reading product reports and recommendations from popular consumer magazine. We did not make a mistake. Our unit installed easily and only gave us a slight heart seizure when we turned it on and only saw the lights come on. We physically had to put our ear to the door to hear water being ingested into the machine. Washing action can just barely be heard if you place an ear within a few inches of the door. Draining water through the sink drain is the loudest noise made. Can actually stand next to the unit in the kitchen and carry on a phone conversation, a welcome change from our previous unit. Initially, we were concerned that there was no "hot air dry" capability. That concern disappeared with the first few loads. Water consumption has been reduced but cannot attribute that specifically to the Bosch dishwasher. (Since I was doing the research anyway, we also bought a Bosch washer and dryer. Excellent units). Only disappointment was that dishwasher did not come with any power cord. That is a very minor inconvenience for any unit as capable in cleaning and as quiet as this one. Would we buy another Bosch dishwasher, YOU BET !!!
