| mochaman's Full Review: Fisher and Paykel DD-602 24 in. Built-in Dishwashe... |
I have had my double dish drawer for over 3 yrs. I have had one service call at about 1 year because something got stuck but if I had bothered to take the racks and motor out and run a wire through the tube I could have fixed it myself in about 5 minutes. I have a septic system so I like the fact that it only uses 4 gallons to do a load instead of 14 gallons for a run of the mill dishwasher. Yes you have to rinse the dishes off before loading but I don't think that's to much to ask for saving 10 gallons of water. There is an eco mode if you don't want the dishwasher to heat the water first. I like the fact it has up to a 12 hour delay mode. When we have a large group of people for dinner I load one drawer with the pots and pans and start. It's quiet enough to run while eating ten feet away. When dinners over I can load the other drawer with the dishes and start. Unload the pots and load coffee cups and dessert plates and all the dishes are clean before I hit the pillow. Some may think they are expensive but they are in line with other high end models. The nice thing is you can split the loads. I read some reviews that say you need a professional installer but I installed mine in about 2 hours. If you can run a drill, screwdriver and a wrench and have some common sense you should not have a problem. I would buy them again and understand the 603 has some new features.
