| nobelangel's Full Review: Fisher and Paykel DD-602 24 in. Built-in Dishwashe... |
Well thought out for space. The racks are easy to add or remove. It is so roomy that I can fit even my stove cartridges for cleaning in one drawer and oven components in the other. It does a good job cleaning and drying when loaded as instructed in the manual. Can't ask for more than that.Over all I'm satisfied with performance. If you can sacrifice the stainless interior of the Kitchenaid,Bosch,Miele,Asko for the functionality of this machine is for you. I am a little disappointed that with a machine which is a little over a month old already has issues with rust in the tubs. (Never had that with my old ASKO which I would never recommend to anyone, their customer service is really BAD.) Love being able to toss the breakfast dishes to wash and being able to have clean dishes for lunch buying me time to put the dishes away!!.
The display is great it tells you exactly what the machine is doing and how much longer. It is so clear that even my 5 year old knows which drawer is clean and gives me progress reports on the cycle status!
It is easy to use if you can read and use the manual they give you and if you do decide to get this machine make sure you have a separate outlet under the sink for the dishwasher since it is not recommended to hard wire.
UPDATE August 2002: I had problems with F1 fault issues and flooding and leaking of this machine back in 4/02. With 2 drawers you would think NO PROBLEM...still the same issues when you have this problem code. After numerous calls found only 1 service center who would come to where I live. The repair guy came and 'fixed' it or so I thought...
3 weeks later same problem. Repair guy #2 shows up....has to call FP and one of their reps writes it off to user problem.... Guess what.... it is now JULY and it is still not fully functional. I still believe that if and when it works it does do it's job, however God help you should you need service.... because Fisher Paykel people here are not very customer friendly, they don't even want you to have a toll free number and to more than compensate, the Paykel folk in Australia are all to glad to assist but a tad to far to get to us here to solve our FP appliance issues. If I had to buy again NO I would not given the lack of aftermarket service availability. My Machine was about 9 months old. The whole point of buying it was to avoid the inconvenience of not having a dishwasher. The jack of all trade techs have no clue nor desire to repair what appears to be an uncomplicated machine. Paykel would do themselves a favor by offering their customers to take a service course to repair their own machines. All the components seem to self contained simple units which any idiot with the right training can handle. FP replaced the whole machine
in July.Fingers crossed.
