As the sole coffee and espresso drinker in the house, my needs run to the smaller machines. I don't need one that will make my espresso, wake me up and have the optional siren. What I do need is a solid, reliable machine that will last and last. Krups is a name I'm familiar with through my history courses and figure that good German engineering was the way to go. After 5 years, I'm still on the same machine, the forerunner the the Espresso Bravo +. Even though my espresso usage has dropped, I am still impressed by the rapidity of heating and the clean, fresh taste I get from my espresso. I don't settle for second best unless it is just about free, and when I bought my Krups espresso machine I got a $10 discount. I just smiled, bought it and haven't even thought about what I would do if it failed me.
I've tried fancy stove top makers and have seen people agonize about making espresso when I've gone visiting. Keep my gadgets to a minimum and concentrate on what the machine does best. I'm glad at least ONE company makes a machine the way I like it!
