This was another small appliance that we knew needed to be replaced when we were redoing our kitchen. We wanted a white toaster to match the other appliances, but more important was the slot size for the bread.
Most toasters seem to have a small slot for toast and then you have to slice bagels down to use it. Also you cannot toast thick bread. You can with this toaster! We purchased this toaster about five months ago and we are very happy with it. I always unplug the toaster when we are finished with it because I know that small appliances are fire hazards if left plugged in. Well, this one will not let you push the toast down if it is not plugged in! That is a neat feature! Too often we have pushed down toast and then realized it was taking a long time and laughed when we discovered we had forgotten to plug it in. This is not a problem with this toaster!
We looked at several models and decided on this one. It has a nice design with nicely rounded edges and not a lot of ridges to clean...very economically made. I do not like ornate designs on my small appliances; that means more to clean that is just a waste of time since it is not used for practical purposes.
The bagel setting works great for nicely toasting bagels on only the 1 or 2 setting needed for browning the bagel evenly. We are definitely bagel eaters and hate forcing them into and out of a toaster. We don't have to do that with this one because they nicely slip in and out of the ample slots designed for that purpose.
Cleaning this appliance is a dream. When clearing the table and counters, etc., a simple wipe over the toaster (that is unplugged, of course) cleans it up beautifully and looking new again and ready for the next use.
Anyone who likes bagels or thick slices of toasted bread should buy this toaster. It is great. This toaster would make a nice addition to anyone's home.
