| martywny's Full Review: Whirlpool GU1500XT - Multiple Color 24 in. Built-i... |
I bought the new dishwasher and after several months the interior was completely discolored. It now has an orange tint and looks worse then the one it replaced. Whirlpool's response is that they never heard of this problem before and suggested that I use Cascade (always have) and use a commercial product to clean it. They also stated that this comes from tomato-based foods. My last dishwasher spent 15 years eating tomato-based foods and never had an inclination to change color on me. They know a lot about a problem that they have never heard of before my complaint. I am aware of two people with the same problem who have received the same response from Whirlpool.
The real problem - Whirlpool is using materials that are inferior in quality to those products of a generation ago. The liner is porous and absorbs colors from whatever is washed. Since the purpose of a dishwasher is to clean food residue from dishes I would expect that it should not make a difference what goes into it.
