Pros:Excellent product, basically the new name for the previously named 7096.
Cons:None, not even price, now.
The Bottom Line: The 7101 by Lakewood continues where the 7096 left off. Excellence.
I've previously written about this product when it was called the 7096, currently the top-rated space heater on e-pinions. Recently, I've checked back on my previously written e-pinions and noticed the cheapest price for the 7096 is $169.00. This is too expensive. I just bought a new Lakewood oil-filled heater for $31.97 at Wal-Mart.

The difference is the model number, it is now called the 7101. Why did I buy another one? Did mine go out? Heck no, It's right beside me right now keeping me warm.
I bought one for my brother for a Christmas present. He works as a salesman and keeps long hours. When he gets home at night, his house is a deep freeze. Being down in South Texas, a lot of us don't have furnaces, but rather, our air conditioners run backwards, heating the freon and dispersing the heat. I think this is called a heat pump as opposed to a traditional furnace. Well, heat pumps are not really efficient. Needless to say, he turns his heat off in the morning when he goes to work. I've stopped by at night and remarked on how cold his house is.
The solution he needs, and now has is the Lakewood oil-filled radiator. This new model has all the features of the original. Triple controls, 600 watt, 900, watt, or combined 1500 watt power for heat. A thermostat also shuts the system off and on automatically. The oil in the heater is self contained and sealed, never needing re-filling. Also, the unit is absolutely quiet. No noise at all.
Since my brother has young children, this is a heater he can be confident won't burn or harm the children. It is not nearly as dangerous as a ribbon heat type heater.
As long as Lakewood keeps cranking these out, I'll keep buying them and giving them out to the heat-impaired. In fact, I'm thinking about getting another one for a Christmas Eve give exchange, where the attendees get to pick the gift they want. If I find a compelling story, I may be writing another review on this remarkable product.
