Cons: Dependability. Just doesn't have it.
The Bottom Line: Stay away from this GE Microwave

I have had the same problem as other write ups listed here. We purchased our unit in August 2005. It is not used heavily, just my wife and I. It looks like it lasted 2 years and 6 months. Then, the magnetron blew along with a fuse. I called GE and was told it would be $79.95 for the service trip PLUS a service call fee for the specific repair needed to fix the unit, not an hourly charge, but a specified repair cost. They couldn't tell me that charge even though I know what the problem is because I took it to a local repair service that checked out the unit then advised me to get in touch with GE because they have a known Magnetron problem and there is a lengthy warranty. They told me it would not be worth it to have them repair the unit because I could buy a new one with a warranty for not much more. After reading all the other problems people have had we decided to not throw good money after bad to only have this happen again so we are going to buy a new microwave that doesn't have GE on it.
NEVER AGAIN WILL I BUY GE ANYTHING.
