| keokih's Full Review: Rainbow Technologies E series Canister Wet/Dry Vac... |
I have wanted this vacuum ever since I witnessed a demonstration in a relative’s home. This is the only way you can buy one, is to have a salesman come to your home. That is unless you purchase a used one through a want ad. We live 15 miles from where these machines are manufactured by Rexair, Inc., in Cadillac, Michigan, but there are no showrooms. You must schedule an appointment with a salesman who gives you a product demonstration/presentation in your home.
When I seen this vacuum I just knew I'd have to own one. I could not afford one at the time, so I bought a broom vac for my bare floors and a Kenmore upright for my carpets. I ended up returning the Kenmore for a full refund and the broom vac was demoted to the basement for small clean up jobs. The Rainbow is a large investment, but one you will not regret. A four year, limited warranty is provided by the distributor.
The Series E Rainbow vacuum comes with a water basin that is filled to the fill line with cold water and placed in the dolly that allows the unit to be rolled throughout the home. The water collects all of the dirt, sand, animal hair and dust from floors, carpets and from the air. If you've ever owned a Kirby vacuum and sucked up a marble, you know what damage it can do. It will always result in a trip to the repair shop. This is not true with a Rainbow, all objects are sucked up into the water basin and bypasses the motor. So it's even safe to vacuum a child's room without cause to worry.
The Series E comes with the following attachments, Dusting Brush, Upholstery Tool, Crevice Tool, Floor/Wall Brush, and Inflator Attachment. These tools are used with the hose and wand for easy cleaning of furniture, corners, walls, ceilings, blinds, and bare floors. The inflator tool is for inflating air mattresses, balloons, etc. Also with this unit is a power head assembly used to do your carpets.
One of the features I like about the Series E, is the Hepa Neutralizer that helps to filter out the sound of the motor, as well as non-wettable material that may bypass the water wash system. This filter needs to be replaced after 18-24 months of normal household use.
By giving the salesman some references of other people who might be interested in seeing a demonstration, you can also earn other gifts. I earned the Rainbow Aquamate, which is a carpet extraction unit. I also got a smaller power head assembly for doing carpeted stairs or cleaning carpets in your car. There are fragrances that can be added to the water like apple blossom, violet, gardenia, lemon, orange, or Siberian pine that will leave your home with a pleasant aroma while you clean.
If you just see one demo, and can witness how much dust and dirt is extracted from the air and carpets of your home, you will be sold on the unit. I have allergies and this cleans better than any vacuum I've ever owned. I clean professionally and a couple of my customers have bought Rainbows since I've been cleaning for them. It is gratifying to know that when you are done cleaning, you have done the best possible job using this vacuum.
A couple of things people usually do not like about this type of vacuum, is that you have to empty the water bowl and to empty it in the front yard could be an eyesore. You will need to dispose of the contents in an area not in public view. Remember this "stuff" was in your house! Secondly, the attachments snap together and are somewhat difficult to snap a part to interchange tools. You just have to get use to it, sometimes I don't allow the attachment to become fully engaged, so I can slip the tool off again easily.
