Disappointing

Pros: Sleek design. Lots of fancy features. Three racks. Warming drawer. Warming burner.
Cons: See review. Unusual features are complicated to use but I rarely use them.
The Bottom Line: Do not buy if a slow, frequently used burner will frustrate you. For the money, I expected better performance and for the reputation, better customer service.

Three items I'm not thrilled about:
1. Front right burner (a most frequently used one) does not heat up as quickly as the other three. The coils on the front right are not wrapped as closely as the other burners so logically it is not putting out as much heat. Takes twice as long to heat. Why would it be designed this way?
2. The oven fan stays on about 1/2 hour after oven is turned off. When I open the door during this 1/2 hour, the oven seems to still be generating heat. Am I imagining this or is it really still on? My old oven would have cooled down significantly in this time frame.
3. Customer service. I called customer service to inquire about these issues. They, justifiably, don't know info beyond the manual. But even a supervisor would not put me through to tech support or anyone who could explain why I'm experiencing these 'problems'. I can't tell if I have a lemon product or if the design is poor. I asked that my problems be passed on to engineering so they may take them into consideration in their product design and improvements or even explain them in the manual. It was clear to me that my suggestions were entering a black hole.
I was most polite and calm but came away a very dissatisfied customer. I will never buy Jenn-Air again and would like to discourage others from patronizing JA.
We choose appliances in stores for their perceived features, looks, manufacturer reputations, price, etc. What we can't determine is their functionality. I hope web sites like this will serve to inform consumers of the problems (or benefits) of various products as well as the quality of manufacturers' customer support. It would be beneficial if the manufacturers read these also to ensure their survival.
