Pros:Can't think of many...
Cons:Way overpriced!
The Bottom Line: I cannot, with clear conscious recommend this overpriced monstrosity to anyone.

About five and a half years ago, I received a phone call from a woman who said that, since I had answered a survey, ( over the phone ) that I had qualified for a stove top grill, for free. The only catch was, that they wanted me to watch a demonstration for a vacuum, which I was under no obligation to buy. I agreed, thinking that the stove top grill was a good idea. This very enthusiastic young man showed up at our door with vacuum in hand!

Note: My husband had bought a Dirt Devil a few months earlier, but, it wasn't doing the job that Paul Harvey said it would do!

I have to add that, five and a half years ago, my step-son and his wife separated and decided that their life would be so much more fun if they did not have to raise their daughter ( of 10 months! ) so she was left with my husband and myself to raise 24/7 for almost a year. I am adding this because the baby was the main reason my husband decided to purchase this, most expensive vacuum.

So now, this young man is in our living room, and just gushing about how great this vacuum is. He started by telling us that there were no bags in this type of cleaner. Just a filter ( thus the name, Filter Queen ). He told us that no matter what got sucked into the vacuum, nothing would hurt the motor. He brought out a huge bolt and proceeded to suck it up into the machine! He was right, it did not damage the motor. Next, he told us that this vacuum had such great suction that it was able to virtually suck the germs right out of the furniture! Ok, now I am paying attention.

He brought out this big, heavy duty plastic bag, and took one of the cushions off my couch. This cushion was about ( I'm guessing, here ) 2ft. X 3ft long and about 6 in deep. He put the cushion into the plastic bag, and put the hose into it, also. He then secured the bag to the hose with a large rubber band, he turned the vacuum on and my cushion was reduced to less than an inch deep! Flat as a pancake! I'm impressed, my Dirt Devil couldn't come close to that. He had me get my Dirt Devil and vacuum a spot on the carpet, which I did. He then put the power nozzle on the same spot I had just vacuumed, and ( with a special piece of equipment, that only the salesman has ) showed us the dirt still left in the carpet. He was very good at his job as salesman.

What really sold my husband though, was the Cyclonic Action, which returns air to the room, cleaner and freshener.Since there was really no way for him to demonstrate that procedure we pretty much took his word for it
My husband was worried about our granddaughter, as she kept getting colds and allergies, so he really liked this feature. He wanted the vacuum. When the salesman quoted the price, I jumped off the couch and asked to speak to my husband privately! I told him that unless it was lined in gold, that I had no desire to won this machine with a price tag of $ 1,800.00!!! Hello! We are no where near 'upper class', and already living paycheck to paycheck. He was determined, though. The salesman gave him $ 100.00 off the price for trading in our Dirt Devil, and after a credit check by phone, to his company, told us we qualified to finance the vacuum. Oh my! After finance charges the total came to $ 2,176.04!! For a vacuum cleaner?!
Conclusion:
Was it worth it? For a while, I thought it was great. I was so embarrassed about the price, I felt I had no choice but, to brag to my friends how great it was.
However, I recall cooking some fish, and thinking that I had nothing to worry about, as far as a lingering odor went, after all I had a two thousand dollar vacuum, with Cyclonic Action air cleaner and freshener, right? Wrong! It did nothing to clear the air in my house of that fishey smell. It is very cumbersome, and heavy to drag around. Unlike an upright, that you can see where it is going, when you have to drag a canister behind you, it is always knocking up against the furniture. It is easier to empty than, the conventional bag vacuum, and because of the filter, the motor does not get damaged by dirt or debris.

It is increasingly difficult for me to handle, as in the last three years I have had health problems, and don't have the physical strength to pull the weight of this machine around. Funny thing is, last week my husband bought a Shop*Vac with a 1.5 hp, compared to the Majestic Filter Queen's 1.22 hp, and it does a better job!

. The Filter Queen's Triple Filtration/Air Deodorizer, boasts of being able to remove dust, pollen, gases and odors, from the air at a rate of 68 cubic feet per minute for relief of allergy sufferers. I did not find this to be beneficial or correct. The filter cones are rather hard to find, as they are not carried in outlet stores such as Wal-Mart.

It is a good enough vacuum, but not #1 in my book. I would never suggest that anyone pay such an outrageous price for a vacuum cleaner.
