Pros: Great for Hardwood floors and area rugs.
Cons: UPDATE: The biggest con is that to empty the cup is really messy!
The Bottom Line: Great vac to have around, but I would not just own this vac for all your needs.

| sfvas's Full Review: Hoover Quik Broom S2561 Upright Vacuum |
I had been looking for a broom vac for our house. Half of our house is hardwood floors, so I wanted a broom vac to pick up all the hair our wonderful dog leaves behind for us. The main feature I was looking for was something powerful enough to pick up dog hair and which has a dust cup that would not send dust flying all over the floor.
The Hoover's dust cup is easy to open and empty. Although it's not as easy as just disposing a bad, it's better then most bagless vacs.
With a 3.6 Amp motor, I was somewhat skeptical about how powerful it was. It says an 12 amp effective cleaning, which I don't know why Hoover does. It performed well is is very quiet. This vacuum does not do well on regular carpets, because it does not have a rotating brush. If you have a lot of Hardwood floors, we have 2000 sq.ft of hardwood and 1400 sq. foot of normal carpet. So it is a great 2nd vac for the bathrooms, kitchen, and laundry room.
The cord is 20ft. which I did not think made a big differnce until I bought it home and used it. My last vac had a 14 ft. cord. The on-board tools are useless. I left the tools and hose in the box. The hose is very hard cheap plastic.
