Pros: Great at vacuuming
Cons: When it vacuums
The Bottom Line: Would be great if the motor didn't burn out consistently (check for yourself on the internet) and if you’re strong enough to man-handle it up and down stairs.

| Lighthouse's Full Review: Hoover Ultra U25-920 WindTunnel Bagged Upright Vac... |
This is a sad review. When I purchased a house two years ago, spending EVERY penny I had, my mom bought this (VERY NOT CHEAP) vacuum as a house-warming present.
It was awesome... at first.
I used it about 10-12 times. And LOVED it! Boy, talk about power. Totally sucked up stuff and had a few really neat features (which I won't get into because I don't recommend this vacuum... so moot points).
My mom purchased the same vacuum for herself, about the same time.
She told me, about a week after her purchase, that she was returning her vacuum because after about 2-3 times of use, suddenly it had a "hot" or "burning" smell. Then she said she saw smoke coming from the engine.
Oh, poor Mom got a lemon. :-( I felt badly for her. But better her than me!
So, after about a dozen uses for mine... suddenly... one day... a "hot" or "burning" smell... then smoke comes out of the engine. AAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!
I did a little research and found out... I'm not the only one this has happened to. Well, heck! Why are they still selling it? And do I expect a full refund? Um... yes. And would I accept a replacement? Um... no. I went straight out and bought a Eureka. Bagless... whoohoo!
So, I'm afraid I can't recommend this Hoover at all. In fact, I emphatically DON'T recommend it. If it didn't have motor burn (or whatever it was that seems too commonly to happen to this model), I would totally recommend it. But it's just WAY TOO PRICEY to have such a short life.
Now, since I'm not adding any details, I know this review will get more "helpfuls" than "very helpfuls"... but I'm not as anal as I used to be, so I'm okay with that.
Better that I say what I've got to say to warn the public (g) than spend hours composing novel-length epinions and save only one-fifth of the population.
P.S. It's REALLY heavy. REALLY!
