I would like to say that my search for a vacuum cleaner has not been good! I started off with a Bissell that I purchased from Wal-Mart for about 70 bucks..After the first time using it wouldnt work and pick up anything. I figured it was refurbished and broke so I returned to the store. I then decided to pay alot more for a vacuum that came from a reputable store and was a good product. I purchased this stupid Hoover at Sears and dished out about 250 plus for the dang thing. It worked for a minute but then the actual vacuum stopped picking up and I could only vacuum using the hose. The time passed to return to the store and get a full refund so I utilized the 1 year warranty. When I picked up the item I was told they found nothing wrong with the vacuum and changed the belt. Hence I am still having the same issue of not picking up. I now have a cat and have had to use the old fashion method of sweeping my rug. Now I thought it was a coincidence that 2 vacuum cleaners would not pick up unless I used the hose which is a pain in the behind? I asked myself is it possible that my carpet, which is at least 30 plus years, is the problem and not the dang vacuums. i have adjusted the heights several times to no avail. I am at my wits end and to make matters worse,I had a friend bring over their Dirt Devil Envision vacuum and not only did it pick up it sounded and was more powerful then my 250 buck Hoover and they only paid 50 bucks for theirs from Wal-Mart! Now the real test is to take it to someone elses house and see if it picks up on their carpet right? Has anyone else experienced this type of issue?
