Pros: Cleans well, love the floor polisher, and it really knows how to suck up
Cons: Have to be in top condition to vacuum
I'll admitt it I am a push over for a good sales pitch. (Except by telemarketers) My best friend's son was selling Kirby's to work his way through college and asked me if he could demonstrate the Kirby for me. Well, he sold me one which I had no intention of buying.
I saw the floor polisher, the sander. the shampooer and all the bells and whistles and decided I had to have this. I was certain I could no longer live without this cleaning marvel and the sander was great. (During the 12 years I've owned this I have never used the sander.) The sand paper strips are still unused.
The vacuum weighs a ton and doesn't move too easily if on the wrong setting. It could be my ineptness at bag changing but it takes me forever to get the bag changed correctly. There is a light on the side of the sweeper which illuminates a green light if the vacuum is picking up dirt. I have sometimes vacuumed only to find the green light was unlit and not working the way it should. Well, that's my ineptness and Kirby's are not built for us, the inepts.
My plans are to auction off the Kirby to one of my four children and go out and buy myself another Hoover, which I can lift and will use more because it's lighter.
Everyone should have a Kirby, once in their lives but do it while you're young and strong.
