Pros:Better for the environment, small, ventless. Perfect for apartments.
Cons:Breaks down frequently, can't handle a lot of clothes, clothes come out so deeply wrinkled.
The Bottom Line: I would recommend getting a higher quality version of this type of machine. The equator model has really let us down.

I love the concept of this machine because it is more environmentally friendly, I just wish it was more dependable.

I would recommend this size machine to a single person or a couple living in an apartment, but not for a family. It can only handle a small load. If you put in more than two towels the weight makes the belt fall off, which means you need to pull the unit out, take off the back, and put the belt back on.

We have had ours for a little over a year and something is wrong with the programming (a cycle now takes 12 hours) and the need to get it repaired AGAIN is what motivated this review.

Other than the frequent need for repairs, how wrinkly the clothes come out is the biggest drawback of this machine. When the cycle is finished the clothes are not completely dry. We hang ours on a drying rack to save energy. Straightening out the clothes on the drying rack does help a little with the wrinkles. If you instead run the dry cycle for a second time the clothes come out severely wrinkled. It is nothing like using a standard American-style dryer where you can pull your jeans out and throw them on. I avoid using an iron at all costs, but with this machine you need to iron everything - even if you're like me and aren't picky about your clothes.

I wish Equator would use higher quality standards in the design and building of this machine so that more Americans would be encouraged to use more environmentally friendly European style washer/dryers.
