| disaggau's Full Review: Kenmore 88732 Top Load Stacked Washer / Dryer |
Many years ago I tried a stackable laundry unit and not with the best results. But over the years they have certainly made some wonderful improvements. I have always believed in Kenmore products and before retiring to Florida had a full size Kenmore washer and dryer that I had used for eons. I sold them before the move because I was moving into a much smaller condo and wouldn't have room for the full size models. I'm sure they will give their new owners many years of good service.(NOTE: I use WebTV and cannot paragraph so I use dots.) ..........................................................................................................................When I moved into my smaller condo in Fort Myers, there was an old friend to greet me. A Kenmore laundry center with the washer on the bottom, a top loader, and the dryer, on the top, a front loader. Both units have lots of bells and whistles. The washer has a heavy duty setting, pre-wash, knit/delicate, and permanent press. It also has four settings for water temperature, and three settings for water level. I usually keep mine on the large load setting because even washing for just one person, it's easy to fill the machine to capacity. My machine gets a good workout because in Florida you can only wear washable clothes once. That's due to the heat and humidity down here. Put on a fresh blouse and slacks in the morning and by evening it looks as if you slept in it. I find my Kenmore washer easy to use and it certainly does a good job of cleaning my clothes, bed linens, et cetera. ..........................................................................................................................My Kenmore Laundry Center is located just off the guest bathroom and has louvered doors to keep it from sight. It's the perfect solution for a one floor condo. The dryer portion also offers several choices...permanent press, timed dry, air dry, and normal. I find all settings come in handy. The lint filter is easy to remove after each drying cycle. I also use a vacuum attachment now and then to suck up lint that remains beyond the filter. The only thing you have to be careful of is to not overload the washer or dryer. They will handle the mattress pad on my bed but not the comforter. That has to go to the cleaners. If the washer gets overloaded (which I was guilty of once) it starts to dance around and can disconnect. Thankfully my son-in-law was able to put it back where it belonged. Bottom line here is...you can't go wrong with a Kenmore.
