| bpotter1's Full Review: Sunbeam Grill Series 350 |
This is the second Sunbeam gas grill we have had the first one we used for about 7 seasons. We replaced the burner and igniter once but we felt we wanted the model with the burner on the side so we bought the 350.
It was fairly easy for my husband to put together and the first couple of times we used it we had no problem.
The trouble started on about the 5 Th use we could not get it to light. My husband tried cleaning the connectors tightening them and anything else he could think of but it would not light. He took the igniter off and reinstalled it but still it would not light. He thought maybe it was a defective igniter and went to the local store and bought a replacement. The replacement would work sometimes and others not. This is still the problem with the grill we might go out and light it one day with no trouble and the next it will not light.
Since I wrote this reveiw the lighting problem has eased a little we find as long as we do not move the grill it will light each time.
Not sure what the problem is but as long as it lights I dont mind.
There are some good features to the grill. The racks on the side make it easy to bring things out and set them down while you are cooking. When the grill does light it cooks food very evenly. It has enough BTUs to make it fast cooking a potato takes about 45 minutes and hotdogs are just quick on the grill as they are boiled and taste much better.
The sideburner has turned out to be just another extra we do not use. I think we boiled potatoes once on the side burner. We do feel if the power ever goes out in the winter we would be able to cook on this grill and boil something on the side burner. The cleanup on the grill is making easy with the porcelain grates. I wire brush run across then when it is first heated up takes care of most things and they can be cleaned in the water in the sink.
I like this grill but it can be very frustrating hope this is just a defective grill and others do not have this experience
As I said in my update not moving the grill has eased our ignition problems and after at least 5 seasons the grill is still going strong.
